Indore: Fraudster arrested after two years

According to the police, Kavita of Niranjanpur area of the city had lodged a complaint against Manoj Saxena and his son Pallav for duping people in the name of investing their money in the share market in 2020.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man, who was on the run for two years after allegedly duping people of Rs 2 crore in name of investing their money share market to get a good profit, was arrested by the Vijay Nagar police from Shivpuri, an official said on Friday.

After police registered a case, the accused fled from the city and his family members had lodged a missing complaint with the police. The accused was working as a medical representative for a pharmaceutical company in other cities.

According to the police, Kavita of Niranjanpur area of the city had lodged a complaint against Manoj Saxena and his son Pallav for duping people in the name of investing their money in the share market in 2020. Other complainants namely Lokendra, Nainsingh, Sangeeta, Jyoti, Seema, Preeti among others also lodged complaints against the accused.

Manoj used to run an investment company in a mall in Vijay Nagar area. He contacted people and took money from them on the pretext of investing their money in the share market and he assured to give a profit of 15 per cent.

Initially, Kavita had received Rs 70,000 as profit but later she didn’t receive any amount. She contacted Manoj and found his mobile number had been switched off. The victims reached his house where the family members informed them that they have nothing to do with Manoj, even though he was staying with them. After the case was registered against him, his family members lodged his missing report with the police. Later, his son also went missing.

Later, police came to know that Manoj was staying in Guna and he was working as an MR in a pharmaceuticals company in order to evade arrest. He was reportedly talking with his parents over Whatsapp call. As per the plan, the police gathered information about him and called him to Shivpuri on the pretext of meeting a doctor there. When Manoj reached Shivpuri, he was arrested.
