Indore: Ahead of Medical Council of India’s inspection in medical colleges, as many as five faculty members of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College were transferred to medical colleges in Chhindwara, Shivpuri and Ratlam on Wednesday. The exercise is aimed to show to MCI that medical colleges in Chhindwara, Shivpuri and Ratlam have adequate teaching strength.
MGM college administration relieved them from their duties with immediate effect on Wednesday. Dean Dr Jyoti Bindal said on directions of director of medical education department, the faculty members were sent to three medical colleges on deputation.
Those who have been transferred to Chhindwara include Dr GB Ramteke, professor in medicine department, Dr VS Bhatia, professor in anesthesia department and Dr Vijay Niranjan, assistant professor in psychiatry department. While Dr Rakesh Vijayvargiya, associate professor in radio diagnoses department has been shifted to Shivpuri and Dr Gayatri Mathuria, associate professor in gynecology department has been sent to Ratlam. Sources said MCI team will inspect Chhindwara and Shivpuri for recognition of 100 seats while it will visit Ratlam for inspecting the facilities and head count for existing seats in February.
