Indore: Local police on Sunday arrested five persons who were on the run after stabbing a minor boy in Annapurna. The accused confessed to have committed the crime due to an old rivalry.

Additional Superintendent of Police Manish Khatri said 17-year-old victim was stabbed and injured by a group of youths in Mahavar Nagar on Friday. After stabbing minor, the accused managed to flee from the spot. Police identified the accused after collecting information from spot and lodged a case under Sections 307, 294, 147, 148, 149 of IPC and started search of accused.

On the instruction of senior police officials, Annapurna police station team raided several places and managed to arrest Sachin Maihar, Rahul Koli, Pradeep Porse, Lalit Ashtoliya and Jitendra Ashtoliya, all the residents of Mahavar Nagar. Police recovered knife used in the crime from Sachin.

During investigation, it was revealed that victim had an altercation with accused Rahul and Lalit a few days ago. The accused attacked the minor to take revenge. Superintendent of Police (west) Siddharth Bahuguna has announced cash reward for Annapurna police station incharge Satish Dwiwedi, SI Brajmohan Bhadoriya, SI Neelmani Thakur, PSI Prem Singh, constables Jitendra, Anil and Navin for arresting accused within 24 hours of the incident.
