Indore: Panic prevailed in KIBS Hospital, located in Mahalaxmi Nagar, on Sunday when fire broke out in its post operative care unit. About nine children were admitted in the hospital while one was admitted in post operative unit. Children were shifted to other wards and in an adjacent house for saving their life. According to fire brigade officials, fire broke out in compression section of air conditioner in the post operative unit.
“We immediately shifted children and vacated the hospital,” fire brigade officials said. Fire fighters had to break window panes of ward to remove the smoke that filled in. “About half tank water was used to douse fire and it took over 45 minutes in rescue operation,” fire fighters said adding the hospital doesn’t have ample number of fire extinguishers and equipments.
Meanwhile, KIBS Hospital owner Dr Sangram Singh said, “We have immediately shifted patients to our house adjacent to the hospital. We controlled fire through extinguishers and fire brigade officials helped in removing the smoke.” He said only one child, who had gone through surgery on Sunday morning, was admitted in post operative ward and others were admitted in other wards.
