Indore: Father-son gang of vehicle lifters busted

Indore: Formed by father and son, the city police on Tuesday arrested a vehicle lifters’ gang and recovered 15 vehicles from them. The gang had lifted vehicles from almost every police station area.

Acting on a tip off, police during check-drive at Star Square and caught a youth Avesh Shaikh, resident of Khajrana, with a CD Deluxe vehicle. Another accused Sahil Khan, resident of same area, was arrested during checking near Bypass.

Accused told police that they stole more than 14 vehicles and a loading rickshaw. They said they use to do recce in two-wheeler parking in city to lift vehicles.

The accused have been identified as Iqbal Vadur (36), his son Sahil Khan (19), Jawed Ansri (18), Arbaz Khan (18), Vicky Yadav (22), Avesh Khan (19), and Abdul Salim (32), all residents of Khajrana police station area. The accused used to lift vehicles for buying luxury goods.

“The accused had planned to loot petrol pump owner at Geeta Bhawan few days back but couldn’t succeed. They lifted vehicles from 15 police station areas of the city,” a policeman said.
