Indore: After probing the case in a “wrong direction”, it was “established” late on Tuesday that a factory owner had attempted a suicide bid which got botched. Earlier, the police were informed that the victim was shot at and injured reportedly by three bikers on Super Corridor on Tuesday night.
Police were initially clueless about the “shooters” till late night. Gandhi Nagar police station in-charge Neeta Derwal said that 36-year-old victim Jitendra Tolani, a resident of Vinay Nagar was rushed to a private hospital after he was injured near TCS on Super Corridor. Jitendra is stated to be out of danger.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Jitendra is the owner of a factory that manufactures machine parts on Sanwer Road. He left home in the evening for his factory in his car. Passersby informed the police after which he was rushed to the hospital. TI Derwal said the victim’s dad had informed that he had left for the factory while his driver said that Jitendra had gone somewhere else after dropping him at home.
Later in the night, the cops confirmed that traces of gunpowder were received from his palm and that he tried to shoot himself. Why the plot of bike-bourne shooters was floated is still unknown. The vicitm is not in a condition to give police his statement.
