Development of infrastructure and projects are cause behind scheduled power cuts. “Unscheduled power cuts can happen once in a month due to various reasons. But there is no shortage of electricity and if unscheduled power cuts are affecting any area more than once, they will be acted upon,” Narwal said.

To a query that 10,000 streetlights remain on even during the day, Narwal said matter will be solved in three to six months.

When asked whether discom plans to provide safety gear to linemen, he said he will ensure that every person who climbs the electricity pole is trained. “In case of accident, we will act sensitively and help the personnel’s family,” he said.
