Indore: Exorcist mom-in-law, hubby booked for harassing woman

Indore: A woman has lodged a complaint against her husband and mother-in-law for torturing her for dowry. The victim has lodged complaint with police in Itarsi and the case was forwarded to Pardeshipura police on Sunday for further investigation.

Investigating officer and sub inspector Rekha Choudhary said case has been registered against Pankaj Patel and his mother Urmila of Nanda Nagar on the complaint of Pankaj’s wife Jyoti. She stated in her complaint that she got married to Pankaj in 2013. Urmila is an exorcist and her husband also started it. He left job for this.

Jyoti told police that she didn’t like it and told husband to take up job again but he thrashed him. Urmila also supported him and demanded Rs 2 lakh as dowry. Her father gave them money but accused did not stop harassing Jyoti because of which she started living with parents in Itarsi where she lodged a complaint. No arrests were made till filing of this report. Police investigation is on.
