Indore: Two persons including former district education officer were booked for committing fraud by providing recognition to nine schools on Thursday. However, preliminary investigation revealed that there was no direct role of then district education officer in the case. Rajendra Nagar police station incharge Sunil Sharma said former district education officer Akshay Singh Rathore and programmer Dhirendra Singh Parihar were booked under IPC and IT Act provisions.

During investigation done by district panchayat CEO, it was revealed that nine schools were provided recognition against norms in 2018. The recognition was given using Rathore’s digital signature. Rathore said this signature was used against norms by programmer Dhirendra. Further investigation is underway.
