Provoked by the photo of shooting, where stage was installed over Shiva Ligam in Maheshwar, activists raised a protest on social media and further trolled the upcoming movie ‘Dabangg 3’ featuring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. Indoreans took the topic ahead and ensured that the topic was raised and acted upon. Trollers from the city did not spare the actors and floated negative posts about the disrespect on shooting site. To their relief, the shooting site was moved and Shiva Ligam was spared the risk of plank falling upon it.
By late evening after the announcement, trollers accepted the move, but still felt disappointed by the shooting cast. “Movie makers are coming and shooting at heritage sites like Maheshwar with no respect for the land of Shiva,” Dr Yogendra Vyas said.
He added that the director Prabhudeva and actors must understand that such actions are not only going to affect their shoot, but also the movie. “I could not believe such an action at first, but later felt that these commercial people have no respect for anything, they are only here to use the beautiful site,” another troller Jyoti Bhoraskar said.
While riding through the lanes of Maheshwar, the actors had won the hearts of locals, but the disrespect has inflicted anger among people. “I have lost respect for the actors and directors, who did not feel guilty either after such an action,” an activist Parag Dhoble said. A BJP leader Hitesh Bajpai, tweeted: “people who were opposed to saying Vande Mataram were dancing on a plank put over the Shivaling.”
