Indore: In a broad daylight incident, an elderly woman was robbed of gold chain when she was going with daughter-in-law on scooter in Pardeshipura on Saturday. The women cried for help and the local residents also tried to catch bikers but they fled.
The incident took place near Subhash Nagar Square at 3 pm. Pardeshipura police station in-charge Sudhir Kumar Arjariya said Bajrang Nagar resident and 70-year-old Anguri Jain stated in her complaint that she along with daughter-in-law Khushbu was going to local IMC Zone for some work. Khushbu was riding scooter and they reached near Subhash Nagar Square when two persons came on a scooter snatched gold chain from Anguri Jain.
The women cried for help when the people of the area gather there. Some of them also chased accused but in vain. Later, the incident was reported to the police.
Police reached the spot and searched CCTVs installed around the spot. Two suspects were captured in one of the CCTVs and police recovered the footage. Two youths wearing printed shirt and blue shirt are being searched by police. Arjariya said faces of the suspects are clear and police will trace them soon.
Senior police officials have constituted a team to trace the accused and announced a reward of Rs 30,000 on giving clue about the accused.
