A domestic help who killed retired IAS officer DY Munawar’s 75-year-old doctor wife for merely Rs 5,000 four years ago, has been sentenced to life on Monday. Additional sessions judge BK Palod handed down sentence to Hridesh Malviya (23), a resident of Suraj Nagar. Hridesh was a domestic help of Munawar who along with his wife Dr Fey lived in posh Manishpuri Colony. As he was a drunkard, Fey fired him in 2014. Nearly a year after that, he returned to Fey seeking Rs 5,000 on March 22, 2015.
As she denied giving him money, Hridesh who was drunk pushed her and slashed her neck with knife. He kept her body in a Nano car of elderly couple and dumped it near Silver Springs. He left the car at Scheme No 140 and returned to Munawar’s house as his motorcycle was parked there. He first cleaned the blood stains on the floor of house and then decamped with Rs 1.48 lakh and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.
The incident was captured in CCTV camera installed in an apartment located in front of Munawar’s house. On the basis of CCTV footage, police arrested Hridesh who accepted to have killed Fey in a fit of rage. A sum of Rs 1.20 lakh and some jewellery, which he had stolen from Munawar’s house, were recovered from Hridesh’s house.
As it was murder of an elderly woman, state government put the case in a category of special cases. Public prosecutor Mohammad Akram Sheikh said they produced 25 witnesses in the case. After hearing both the parties, the court awarded sentence to Hridesh and also fined him.
