Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is going to present Rs 306 crore budget with deficit of Rs 52.5 crore for fiscal 2019-20 at executive council meeting on February 18. “The financial committee on Friday approved the budget, which will now be placed before EC for its nod,” said registrar Ajay Verma.
The deficit is increasing with rise in expenditure as the university regularised nearly 120 employees and gave seventh pay scale to non-teaching employees last year. Besides budget, the university would also take up 21 issues on agenda including renovation of Bafana hostel, which is in tatters. The building was evacuated as it was declared dangerous for human lives. The university will reconstruct it. The appointment of principals at some colleges is also on EC agenda.
