Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Goes Global with Institute of Management Studies Chapter in UAE

Indore: Institute of Management Studies (IMS), a b-school of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, is soon going to have its chapter in United Arab Emirates. Accepting the demand of its ex-students working in Middle East, DAVV has given in principle approval for setting up IMS Chapter in UAE.

“I was told that alumni of IMS want to open a chapter of their alma mater in UAE. We’re glad to hear our ex-students want to have their institute’s chapter on foreign soil. We have given in principle nod for opening the chapter,” said vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad.

For the first time in history, IMS hosted international alumni meet at World Trade Centre in Dubai recently. Dr Nishikant Waikar represented IMS in the meet, which was attended by ex-students from MBA (hospital administration) run by the b-school.

An ex-student Sandeep Sinha and others suggested forming an IMS Chapter in UAE for connecting ex-students of IMS in the Middle East. Waikar informed VC about the demand raised at the meet, which he immediately accepted. The ex-students assured to donate smart system to IMS for upgrading class rooms, books, software for students’ benefits. Addressing the gathering, Waikar emphasised on networking of students and importance of bonding with institute.

What will Chapter do?

Build a bridge between college and career life, so as introduce present students to the professional world and to make them proactive to face challenges that may emerge in their career path. Provide job opportunities to fresh bachelors through references of professionals.

Conduct orientation and training programmes on different topics to enhance students’ skills. Create awareness among students about the scope of their subject in professional world. Provide a platform for students to develop their qualities. Help institute in innovation and start up eco system and arrange for funding and launching new ideas/start ups by students.
Help institute in updating syllabus as per the industry demand.
