Indore: Justice Virendra Singh, the judge of Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, has said that company secretaries are considered as “governance professionals”. They are in great demand in emerging business corporate world. The budding company secretaries should be ready to meet the demand. Justice Singh stated this while addressing the convocation function of western India region of The Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) at Labhmandapam here on Saturday. Justice Singh applauded the company secretary’s profession and asked budding company secretaries to practice it with full devotion.
In his address, Ranjeet Pandey, national ICSI president, said company secretaries should pay attention to new researches to stay ahead in competition. “World is increasingly moving towards the artificial intelligence, so professionals need to keep updating themselves,” he added. Anurag Mundra, managing director of Ujas Energy Limited, spoke on CS practices. Council member and company secretaries CSB Narsimhan and Pravin Soni also expressed their views. It is for the first time that the convocation function Western India Region of ICSI was organised in the state. Over 250 company secretaries were given certificates. Those present on the occasion included company secretary Ashish Garg, vice president Ashok Kumar Dikshit and chairman of West Indian Regional Council Ashish Karodia.
All the participants wore traditional Indian garments. Men wore white or creamy kurta pajama and women wore saris or salwar suit of same colour.
