Indore: District election office has pressed two key officials of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), who are looking after exams and confidential works, into poll duty days before semester and annual exams start.
Deputy registrar (exams) Prajwal Khare and deputy registrar Rachna Thakur (confidential) have been roped into election duty along with nearly 40 more employees.
DR exam is responsible for conduct of exams whereas DR confidential looks after printing of papers and other confidential work related to exams. Both the officers work closely during the exams. Ahead of commencement of six semester exams and annual exams due in April, election office has pressed the duo officers in poll duty thereby hitting exams preparations.
Vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad said that he would write a letter to the district election officer requesting him to relieve Khare and Thakur from poll duty as their presence is a must for conduct of exams.
He also stated that he would also write the election office not to take employees of exam and confidential departments for poll duty. There are several other employees in the university which can be taken for poll duty, he added.
