Indore: The star campaigners of different political parties will be able to land at 12 earmarked helipads during electioneering. For getting permission of helipads, the candidate and parties will have to apply 48 hours prior to arrival of star campaigner. Besides, they will also have to give intimation of visit of star campaigner at concerned police station.
The political parties and candidates contesting Lok Sabha election will have to complete several formalities for holding the meeting of their star campaigners. There will be two permanent helipads and 10 temporary ones. The permanent helipads are at airport and PTC Ground while temporary helipads will be built in Betma, Hatod, Depalpur, Gautampura, Sanwer, Kshipra, Dr Ambedkar Nagar, Mhow, Manpur, Khudel and Rajdhara (Ujjaini village).
The permission of helipads will be given as per Election Commission norms. Temporary helipads and barricades around them will be constructed at mentioned sites by Public Works Department. For a single landing on permanent helipad, the candidates will have to deposit Rs 4,000 at PWD office. This amount will be added in the election expenditure of candidate. Candidates will be required to adhere to model code of conduct at helipad sites too. The permission will be issued 48 hours before the date of the public meeting on “first come first-serve” basis.
