Indore: The Congressmen on Wednesday appealed to district collector to run a campaign for rain water harvesting in the district from June 1 to June 15. Congressmen have also requested collector to provide benefits to people for installing rain water harvesting system properly and to maintain it. Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Rakesh Yadav said BJP has made Madhya Pradesh barren by putting the schemes of Digvijay Singh’s government in cold storage for rain water harvesting. It is need of hour for all to harvest the rain water as the ground water level has gone down by 650 feet in many areas.”
Yadav has also written a letter to chief minister Kamal Nath for starting same campaign in the state to provide relief to people from water scarcity and to save the future. “We have asked chief minister to start a campaign with government institutions and to felicitate administrative officials who complete work properly. People will get rebate in property tax if they opt for system,” he added. According to Congress secretary, collector Lokesh Jatav has accepted the proposal and will launch the campaign soon while the chief minister will announce it before the start of monsoon season.
