Local Congress leaders including two ministers in state government and Lok Sabha candidate Pankaj Sanghvi on Friday went to meet city working president Vinay Bakliwal at a hotel when he did not turn up for a meeting convened by city president Pramod Tandon at party office at PY Road.
Tandon had called the meeting to review preparations for Lok Sabha elections at Gandhi Bhawan. The meeting was attended by all senior leaders including ministers Sajjan Singh Verma and Jitu Patwari and Sanghvi but Bakliwal did not reach for the meeting. Bakliwal was called up but he did not show up stating that he was busy with some relatives at a hotel.

After the meeting at Gandhi Hall got over, all senior leaders including Verma, Patwari, Sanghvi, Tandon and others reached hotel and talked to Bakliwal. Ahead of assembly elections, Tandon had fallen ill and was bed-ridden for several months. At that time, Bakliwal was given reins of city Congress. During his leadership, Congress won four out of eight assembly seats under Indore Lok Sabha constituency.
Now, Tandon has returned and took up responsibilities. Sources claimed that Bakliwal did not like the way responsibilities were given back to Tandon and therefore he skipped the meeting convened by him. However, Congress rubbished the claims saying that there is no rift between Tandon and Bakliwal.
