Indore: Senior Congress leader and Chief of Indian Overseas Congress Sam Pitroda on Sunday said that Congress has failed to reach youths. Taking a pot shot at BJP, Pitroda said, “It is our weakness that we have failed to reach youths. But we can’t spend crores of rupees on social media.” Pitroda was addressing media at a press meet here on Sunday. “I am surprised and shocked that nobody wants to talk about real issues. I have met many youngsters but they don’t want to talk about real issues and following Modi blindly,” he said.

Modi government is a ‘Jumla’ government which did nothing in last five years except giving new ‘Jumla’ every day. No new airport was started, no employment generated, export was decreased and tax increased by 50 per cent but youngsters are still attracted towards ‘Jumlas’, he said. The chief of Overseas Congress said that this election is the election of ideology. “Congress is the party of Gandhiji’s ideology but Modi and Shah are spreading ideology of lies.”

Pitroda also target Modi for terming former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi as ‘corrupt’. “It is shocking that prime minister of our country use such language. I am also a Gujarati but I have not seen any Gujarati speaking such language,” he said. “I am pained to see people hailing from Gujarat falling to such an extent that they lie in such a way about a dead person,” he added. Pitroda also said that asking questions on surgical strike is not being anti-national. Everybody in the country has the right to know about it. He also expressed confidence that the Congress will win this election.
