Indore: A week- long training workshop for making natural colours will be organised at Jimmy McGilligan Centre for Sustainable Development in Sanawadiya starting from Thursday. Dr Janak Palta McGilligan will conduct this workshop from 10 am to 1 pm. The trainers will educate participants for making natural colours in view of Holi festival falling next week. She said workshop will also help participants in generating income by making and selling natural colours. The participants can even train their families, friends and other groups to help them. The main objective for workshop is to protect environment and people’s health.
On Thursday, representatives of 25 NGOs from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh will learn method of making traditional, natural colors using tesu (palash) flowers, vegetables, fruits, orange peels and beetroot. City airport director Aryama Sanyal will be the chief guest. Students, teachers from schools, colleges and people from villages and city will participate. There is no fee or registration. It is open to all with prior confirmation from Dr Janak Palta McGilligan on her email janakjimmy@gmail.com.
