Indore: National Student Union of India (NSUI) activists were at it once again on Friday. Nearly a month after they misbehaved with vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad and hurled abuses on him, activists of Congress student wing on Friday created chaos on Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV)’s RNT Marg campus alleging poor evaluation of answer books of BSc students.

The activists gave full vent to their ire as they hurled coins at VC, broke open the gates at university administrative building and misbehaved with the university officers even as police stood as mute spectators. A group of about 50 BSc fifth semester students including girls had gone to meet the vice chancellor to lodge complaint about poor evaluation of answer books.

The VC denied meeting all the students and called a delegation of about five to six students. To this, the students called NSUI activists including district president Amit Patel, Vikas Nandwana, Sarfaraz Ansari and Rajat Patel. The university’s guards and police did not allow NSUI leaders to enter VC office and meet him. They put lock on entry gate of first floor of the university building where VC’s office is located.

Irked by this, the activists along with students standing on stairs started raising slogans whereas Amit, Vikas and Sarfaraz got out of the building. Dhakad came out of his office to meet students and activists standing on stairs but he did not get the gate opened.

The students complained of poor evaluation of answer books of chemistry subject. While VC was listening to students, some activists took out coins and threw at him saying that he should pass students and keep the money. Hurt by this act, VC came back to his office and asked guards not to allow anybody inside.

Meanwhile, Amit, Vikas and Sarfaraz with the help of a pipe and a tree climbed on terrace of VC office and broke open the terrace gate. They then forced entry into VC’s office. On other hand, activists and students also broke open the entry gate of first floor and entered VC’s office.

FOURTH SUCH INCIDENT IN LAST ONE YEAR                                                                                                                                        Friday’s incident was fourth such incident in last one year. On September 29, 2018, when Governor was in the city to attend a function of DAVV, NSUI activists had ransacked VC’s office to protest arrest of leaders seeking action against a faculty member.

On June 22, NSUI activists led by their state chief Vipin Wankhede had vandalised RNT Marg campus of the DAVV alleging the university was not working in interest of students. On January 18 this year, NSUI activists misbehaved and abused VC alleging that he gave extension to 11 contractual teachers in violation of norms.
