Making the city proud, Pradeep Joshi has secured 93rd All India Rank in UPSC 2018 examination. The results were announced on Friday. Born and brought up in a family with meager means, he was determined to build a brighter future for his family. With his roots in Gopalganj district in Bihar, village life and struggles motivated him to move ahead. He describes himself as debater, orator, quizzer and avid learner.
“I have always been curious about everything, which became my strength and I always scored well in competitions and examinations,” Pradeep said. With support from his family, he completed bachelors in commerce from IIPS, DAVV, in 2017 after passing out from a private school in Indore.
“We always believed in him and were sure that he will do something great in life. He did better than our expectations,” his father Manoj Singh, an operator at petrol pump, said. He won several competitions and headed social movements in college. Moving to Delhi after graduation, he spent a year preparing for UPSC. “It was difficult for me to adjust to Delhi’s lifestyle and find time to study but my determination helped me to stay focused while avoiding all distractions,” Pradeep said. He gives credit of his success to his grandfather, mother, father and educators.
