Indore: “The goal of Madhya Pradesh Government’s education programme is to ensure that children are given foundational skills both in academics and sports from an early age, so that they develop into all-round citizens. I am sure DPS Rau will contribute immensely to quality school education in central India and go on to create a new benchmark in excellence for the state of Madhya Pradesh.” These were the encouraging words by Chief Minister Kamal Nath while inaugurating Delhi Public School’s latest campus at Rau in the presence of cabinet colleagues and former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP, Digvijay Singh, during a programme organized at school premises on Monday.
Higher education minister Jitu Patwari said, “I am happy that major educational institutes are coming to my constituency and Rau is now becoming an educational hub of Indore.” Rau campus is the second Delhi Public School under the aegis of Jagran Social Welfare Society (JSWS) in Indore. “By investing in essential education infrastructure, JSWS in collaboration with Delhi Public School Society are encouraging life-long learning,” said Hari Mohan Gupta, chairman Jagran Social Welfare Society and pro vice chairman, DPS Rau, Indore at the inauguration. The new school is going to be home to two most iconic sports brand names which are MS Dhoni Cricket Academy and Eric Benny Football School.
MS Dhoni Cricket Academy will be mentored by Dhoni himself and other national and International players along with special camps and cricket tours. MS Dhoni had earlier sent his message when the partnership was announced in December 2018 and said, “I am happy to collaborate with DPS Rau, Indore, for setting up the first MS Dhoni Cricket Academy of Madhya Pradesh in Indore, which will train you like a champion to make you a champion”.
Eric Benny Football School which will have a residential school programme in collaboration with DPS Rau, Indore, will provide mentorship & training by Eric Benny, who is a former Indian Football Player & general manager Indian Football team. The Football school will provide full-time German coaches with technical inputs from DFI, Germany, special camps with national & international players, and Exposure trips to European Clubs.
