Indore : Common entrance test (CET) of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) through which admissions are granted in professional courses offered by university teaching departments is likely to be held on any of the date between June 11 and 18.

This decision was taken in a CET organising committee meeting held on Friday, which was attended by representatives of MPOnline which has been entrusted responsibility to hold the entrance test in online mode on behalf of the university.

“Initially, we proposed to hold CET on June 18 but the representatives of MPOnline sought a week slot from us so that they could decide on exam date on the basis of availability of computers with them. We have given a slot from June 11 to 18,” CET organising committee chairman Anil Kumar said.

He said that the management of MPOnline would check availability of computers at their different centres across the nation on our recommended dates and announce the entrance test date after consulting with us.

The CET is a national-level test conducted every year by the DAVV for admissions in professional courses and other courses offered by 11 of its teaching departments viz Institute of Management Studies, International Institute of Professional Studies, School of Commerce, School of Economics, School of Pharmacy, Electronic Multimedia Research Centre, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, School of Law, School of Life Science, School of Electronics and School of Bio-Chemistry.

Last year, the CET was conducted for admissions on 2140 seats. As many as 16874 candidates had appeared in the test. This year, the number of seats could increase as some departments have signaled at hiking intake in different courses.
