Indore: Cash, goods worth lakhs stolen

Indore: In a broad daylight incident, thieves targeted at a house under Vijay Nagar police station area and managed to flee with cash and other valuables worth lakhs on Thursday. Police have registered a case and examining CCTVs installed around the area to trace the thieves.

According to police, the incident took place at the house of Gautam Atkare in Ram Nagar area on Thursday afternoon. Atkare and his wife had gone to their offices and their daughter was taking rest in her room in upstairs.

The incident was discovered when she came down and saw almirah opened and window grill broken. She informed parents and later police were called. Thieves took away Rs 70,000 and gold jewellery weighted about 30 grams from the almirah.

One of their relatives Sanjay said that Gautam’s mother is living in Maharashtra and she is ill since few days. Doctors have advised an operation for her, so Gautam had collected the money for her mother’s treatment which was stolen by thieves.
