Indore: A dream to re-visit his roots came true for 33-year old artist Govind Vishwas, whose paintings have been selected in international art exhibition ‘Celebrating Mother Language in the light of Art’. His series of paintings titled ‘Inner Journey’ will be displayed from Feb 23 to March 9 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Talking about his work, Vishwas said, “I am inspired by emotions and controls that we practice in our day to day life.
From meditating on various subjects, conflicts, issues and actions, he blended colours and other substances to form mix-media artworks. “I work on rubber and other materials and considering nature, I tried to connect the dots and create artwork depicting different era and natural way of life,” Vishwas said.
The theme includes expression of the various elements that need to be newly developed in everyday life through the perspectives of the artists. “I picked out expression in form of article used and animals,” Vishwas said. “I have used ‘bindi’ and acrylic on latex in one of the paintings with representation of an insect in lead,” Vishwas.
This artwork titled ‘Beyond the thoughts’ urge people to consider the simplicity of life. Another painting, which Vishwas feels is one of best representational work is ‘Growing Heart with War’. “I have tried to represent how we are becoming more and more logical, and this causes our happiness to fly away,” he said.
