Indore: The police booked a lady doctor and a nurse of CHL Hospital for their alleged negligence during the treatment of a male patient. The person was admitted following heart problems in May 2018 when doctor and nurse reportedly administered wrong injection due to which he died. No arrests have been made till Friday evening.

The deceased, Aditya Joshi, 38, of Khargone was rushed to CHL Hospital and was being treated there and he died during treatment. The family members had created ruckus in the hospital and alleged that the doctor had administered a “wrong” injection because of which Aditya died. Police later sent the body for post-mortem and recorded the statements of his family members to ascertain the truth.

Investigating officer SI Nitin Patel said Aditya had heart problems and he admitted to a hospital in Khargone from where he was later referred to Indore. His family members had admitted him for further treatment. Preliminary investigation revealed that Dr Neeta Ganguly had prescribed an injection but the medical store owner had given a substitute instead of giving prescribed injection.

Dr Ganguly and the nurse administered the substitute injection without checking it properly. The family members also alleged that they had even enquired about the injection, the doctor and nurse did not pay attention to it. On the basis of the medical report and the statements of family members, police booked Dr Ganguly and sister Mary under Section 304-A of IPC and further investigation is underway. The accused could not be arrested till filing the report.
