Indore: State higher education, sports and youth welfare minister Jitu Patwari on Tuesday targeted BJP’s ‘Kisan Akrosh Rally’ and said BJP’s rally disrupted water supply in city and put residents in trouble in scorching summer.

Addressing a press conference here, Patwari said BJP used tractors of water tankers for the rally. As a result, water could not be supplied in the city specially in those areas that depend on water tankers to meet their daily needs and are facing acute water shortage.

Hitting out at national BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, he said Vijayvargiya left no stone unturned to accord himself a grand welcome and to show his strength to his own party leaders.

“Kailash Vijayvargiya wants himself to be welcomed by BJP activists due to which he took out rally in which no genuine farmer took part. All were BJP activists,” Patwari remarked.

Claiming that the rally flopped, he said farmers are satisfied with state government’s work. “If they hadn’t been satisfied, the number of people in BJP rally would be more. We have given all the evidence of farmers’ loan waiver and even sent it to former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. That included loan waiver certificates of his relatives,” he said.

While taunting Vijayvargiya, he said those who were seen with history sheeters on posters are now seen on roads for farmers’ welfare.

“This was nothing but the way to prove his influence among the party leaders. There is an internal fight among BJP leaders including Rakesh Singh, Shivraj Singh, Kailash Vijayvargiya and Gopal Bhargava for supremacy in the state,” he said.

Patwari also said Vijayvargiya talked about Rahul Gandhi’s promises made in Mandsaur case but he didn’t mention a word about Mandsaur farmer killing case wherein six farmers died.

“We are not only supporting farmers by their loan waiver but also helping the co-operative banks, which faced bad time during Shivraj’s government,” he added.
