Indore: B.Ed second semester students course run one year behind schedule

Indore: BEd second semester students of 2019-20 batch are at the receiving end of the Covid-19 crisis as their course is running a good one year behind the schedule. The students who should have walked out of campuses in April are waiting for their second semester exam results of four semester course.

Their junior who took admission in 2020-21 batch are also facing the same situation. Their first semester exams, which were to be held in December last year, have not been conducted as yet.

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) held Covid-19 crisis responsible for the mess.

“Last year when we are going to announce exam timetable of BEd first semester students of 2019-20 batch students Covid-19 outbreak in March led to closure of the university. Later they were promoted to second semester as per guidelines of Department of Higher Education (DHE). Their second semester exams were held March but then came corona curfew,” said exam controller Ashesh Tiwari.

He stated that they would now send answer books of second semester students for evaluation and try to get results declared by June end.

In case of BEd first semester students, Tiwari stated that he said that their exams would he conducted tentatively in their week of June.

Devi Ahilya Education College Association office-bearers Girdhar Nagar, Jayant Kasliwal and Abhay Padney said that they have expressed their concerned over delay in conduct of exams and pendency of results.

The trio stated that MEd, BPEd, MPEd students are also suffering due to delay in exams and pendency of results.
