Indore: ‘Our primary aim is to reduce the crime rate at any cost. We will tighten the police force and improve the law and order in state.’  This was the pithy essence of the home minister Bala Bachchan’s mood while interacting with media after attending the review meeting with senior police officers in the city at Police Control Room hall on Thursday.

For the first time, after the Congress-led government came to power in the state, home minister Bala Bachchan took a review meeting of the police officers under Indore division. The meeting was attended by Addiotnal Director General of Police Varun Kapoor and Senior Superintendent of Police Ruchi Vardhan Mishra along with all the Superintendents, Additional Superintendents and Deputy Superintendents.

Highlights of meeting

For almost every question asked to home minister Bala Bachchan on the plans to reduce the crime rate he had one reply that ‘We will tighten the screws’ and the police force will work more effectively.

Crime graph has decreased

While addressing the media Bala Bachchan said the crime graph of Indore has decreased. “Apart from few incidences there has been a significant decrease in the crime in city”, he added. After being questioned about the increasing murders and safety of residents in city, Bachchan said that a special team is being formed to reduce and deal with such crimes.
