Indore: A senior clerk at social justice department was caught by Lokayukta police while accepting bribe of Rs 15,000. The clerk had sought bribe for helping in release of salaries of three women teachers, which held back for 36 months. Indore Lokayukta superintendent Savyasachi Saraf said Gandhi Bal Bhawan director Vinay Tiwari on Friday lodged a complaint alleging that clerk Hemant Murmakar is asking for Rs 15,000 for releasing salary of three teachers who work with his institution.
Tiwari told sleuths that his institution imparts training to mentally challenged students to do their daily chores. The government gives salary to teachers who train mentally challenged children. Tiwari said three teachers of Gandhi Bal Bhawan have not received salary since 2016. On receiving complaint, Lokayukta police laid a trap to nab the corrupt babu. They sent Tiwari with the demanded amount to Murmakar who asked Tiwari to keep the amount on bill register.
As the amount was kept on bill registrar, Lokayukta sleuths roaming around in civil dress caught Murmakar. Initially, he denied accepting bribe saying that he does not know why Tiwari kept money on his register but when told that recording has been done, he accepted the crime.
