Indore: Amidst protests by inhabitants, a residential building found to be in the category of “dangerous” structure was demolished by IMC on Friday. A removal gang of IMC reached Raoji Bazaar area to demolish a residential building which housed 6 families. The family members alleged that the IMC had pasted a removal notice on the building on Thursday night and came to demolish it on Friday morning.

However, this was denied by the removal gang in-charge, MS Chouhan. “In last three years, we served many notices but for one or other reason, we could not turn up to demolish the house,” he added.During the drive, some politicains called up IMC officials requesting to defer the action but their request was rejected.

Meanwhile, the residents sought time to vacate the house but the IMC rejected their plea which led to angry protests by women members of the aggrived families. A woman picked up a stick and ran after an IMC officer but was stopped by police present on the occasion. Later, IMC removal gang, with help from police, got the building vacated and later demolished it.
