A 21-year-old youth from Rewa was killed after he fell into a deep pit late on Monday. He was returning home after buying medicine when the accident happened. Investigating officer SI Vishnu Prasad Mandloi said the deceased has been identified as Nitin Kushwah, a resident of Rewa. He was staying in an apartment in Palasia area and was preparing for pre-Medical Test. He made a phone call to his mother and informed her that he was not feeling well after which he had gone to buy the medicine.
Later, locals informed the police that a man was spotted in a pit at Imleshwar Mahadev Mandir near Manoramaganj. An ambulance was called and he was rushed to MY hospital but he could not be saved. On the basis of registration number of his bike, police managed to identify him. Preliminary investigation revealed that he was returning home after buying medicine when he fell into the pit after he lost his control.
However, the police are examining the CCTV grabs to know the exact reason. The body has been sent for autopsy and further investigation is underway. It is said that the pit was dug for Narmada water pipeline and there were no barricades due to which the incident happened.
