Indore: After 50 years, MGM to hold MBBS student’s convocation

After 50 years, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College is set to hold a convocation ceremony for the recently graduated students from the college. The college administration is also trying to get President of India or Vice President as the chief guest of the ceremony.

According to Dean of MGM Medical College Dr Jyoti Bindal, “We are planning to organise a convocation ceremony for the recently graduated students. We have started preparations and renovating the auditorium of our college for the same.” The date for the programme is not yet decided, Dr Bindal said.

“The date of the programme will be decided after getting nod from the chief guests we are approaching,” the Dean said. The college administration is trying to get approval from President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu to be the chief guests of the programme. The college will award the degrees to the students for last time as many years college was organising oath taking ceremony in the name of convocation where degrees were not awarded to the students.
