Indore: Police on Wednesday arrested a youth and rescued a 14-year-old boy, who was abducted three days ago. The boy was held captive for three days in a room and was tortured for money. Father of the victim reported the matter to police after he received a call from the accused for money.

Banganga police station in-charge Indramani Patel said the boy, Dharmendra, was playing outside his house when he was abducted by Santosh Rajput, a resident of Anand Nagar, Musakhedi. Family members did not report the matter to police as they were thinking that Dharmendra had gone to their ancestral place.

On Wednesday evening, the accused made a call to boy’s father, Bhajanlal Ahirwar, and demanded Rs 11000. The accused even threatened him of dire consequences when he showed his inability to give the money. Later, the incident was reported to the police.

As the matter of abduction was serious, a police team was constituted by senior officials to trace the accused. The team members contacted the abductor without revealing their identity. Finally, they found his location in Anand Nagar and arrested him following a raid. The victim was rescued and was handed over to his family members.

The boy told the police that he was being tortured by the accused. It is said that father of victim had borrowed money from the accused a few months ago due to which the accused was forcing him to repay the money. However, the police denied the same and said that the further investigations are on.
