Indore: There are 23.49 lakh voters in the Indore parliamentary constituency. It includes 12.07 lakh males and 11.41 lakh females. About 180 voters belong to third gender. The number of the first time voters or young voters in age group 18 to 19 years is 66,638. This is the final picture of voters of Indore parliamentary seat that has emerged after accepting the application of voters till April 19. Collector and district returning officer Lokesh Kumar Jatav stated this at press conference on Tuesday.
Jatav said number of service voters in Indore is 1891 while there are seven NRI voters. The number of Divyanga voters in the district is 14, 422. He said nomination papers of all 23 candidates were found correct after scrutiny. After the withdrawal of candidature on May 2, election symbols will be allocated. The model code of conduct is being implemented effectively in the district.
Jatav avoids query on viral videos
During media interaction, questions were asked about the alleged use of name of army and wing Commander Abhinandan by former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in nomination rally of BJP candidate on Tuesday. Some videos also went viral. To this, Jatav replied that he has not received any complaint in this regard. Then questions on working of social media monitoring team were also asked. Jatav said he doesn’t feel it necessary to answer this question.
