Indore: 548 BEd colleges take part in admission counselling; registration starts today

As many as 548 BEd colleges, including 29 located in Indore, will take part in centralised online admission counselling conducted by department of higher education.  MPOnline, the internet service provider of DHE, on Wednesday uploaded list of the colleges participating in the counselling for students who are willing to pursue the two- year BEd course.

Indore division additional director KN Chaturvedi said colleges were told to disclose their vacant seats on the portal till late Wednesday night as registration process for counselling is starting on Thursday.The BEd counselling would be held in three phases. The first round would he held from April 4 to May 1, second from May 2 to 27 and third from May 28 to June 21. The registration for first counselling for courses will be held from April 4 to 12 and verification of documents from April 4 to 15.

The common merit lists of students would be issued on April 18 and allotments on the basis of merit would be made in college on April 25.  “The students whose names will figure in first merit list would have to pay fee to allocated colleges by April 30 for confirmation of admission,” Matushree College director Rambabu Sharma said.  The seat remained vacant after first counselling will be uploaded on portal on May 1 for second round.

Students told to select 50 colleges
Sai Baba College director Kamal Irani said students would have fill 50 colleges of their choice, priority wise. On the basis of their qualifying marks exams, merit will be prepared and students will be allocated colleges. “The students who did not get college of their choice in the first counselling can change priority list in the second counselling. He can do this till third round or till he gets college of his choice,” Arihant College director Kavita Kasliwal said.
