Indore: Braving the chilly nights, the railway department completed the re-laying of 36-kilometre long track of Indore-Ujjain section on Wednesday. The replacement with enhance safety of tracks and passengers.
Periodically, the railway department changes track irrespective of their condition including wear and tear created owing to weather conditions. Divisional railway manager RN Sunkar said the railway stretch from Laxmi Bai Nagar station to Ujjain was identified for change of track. The work was completed in eight months.
On Tuesday night, the track between Karcha to Ujjain railway station was replaced between 12 at night to 6 am as the engineers and workers of Ratlam division braved the chilly winds to complete the task on time.
