Indore: Regional Transport Officer suspended 210 driving licence of persons who did not pay fine even after receiving Red Light Violation Detection (RLVD) challans six or more times, on Wednesday. A list of violators was given by the traffic cops to the RTO. The driving licences of these persons have been cancelled for 3 months. At least 52 signals have been installed in the city to manage the traffic and RLVD cameras are installed at 28 squares and tri-sections to keep an eye on red light jumpers. Many commuters, who violet red light signal, did not pay the fine for a long time even after violating traffic rules 6 or more times.
City traffic police officials had sent the names of such violators to cancel their licence. After checking the details, the Regional Transport Officer has cancelled the licences of 210 persons for three months. Moreover, the RTO has also issued notices to the drivers of commercial vehicles who violate the rule six or more times. Information about the vehicle drivers is also being collected from the vehicle owners to cancel their licences.
