Indore: The world largest ‘festival of democracy’ will reach its climax on Saturday at Nehru Stadium. A gathering of over 20,000 people at the iconic sports complex will help in making it a success when the election material distribution will be done from there. Two days ahead of polling and on the eve of distribution of polling material, Collector and District Election Officer (DEO) Lokesh kumar Jatav briefed about organising the mega election event at his office on Friday. Sharing various facts and figures, he said that there will be more than 20,000 people present in the stadium, which would be equal to spectators of an IPL match.
The members of polling parties have been asked to report at the stadium at 6am. Smart arrangements are made for distribution of polling material under supervision of ADM Bhavya Mittal, he added. Several activities have been carried out under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Practices (SVEEP) in the last days. Therefore, we are hoping to achieve the target of 75% voting in this phase, he said, adding that sector officers will collect polling percentage from presiding officers and feed it to the control room.
