Indore: 20-year-old girl robbed near hostel in Indrapuri

Indore: A 20-year-old girl was robbed by two unidentified scooter-borne men in Indrapuri area under Bhanwarkuan police station here on late Sunday. Police registered a case and launched a drive to hunt the accused. Detailed investigations are underway.

In her complaint, Rashmita Tripathi said she was moving towards her hostel late on Sunday with her two other friends when two unidentified men snatched her bag. Rashmita, a native of Shahdol, is a BSc student in the city.

The incident took place at a stone’s throw from her hostel. In her statement to police, she said she was out for dinner with her friends as dinner is not served in the hostel on Sunday.

Investigating officer and ASI Jagdish Solanki said accused was on a white scooter and could not be identified by girls as it was dark. The scooter has a paper pasted on its number plate, he added.

“The bag contained ATM card, Aadhaar card, PAN card and Rs 4,000. Both the accused seemed to be between age of 20 and 25,” Solanki said.

He said CCTV camera installed near the site will also be explored for detailed investigations. However, nothing substantial was recovered till late on Monday. Detailed investigations are underway.
