Indore: Local crime branch police on Friday arrested two persons with cannabis worth Rs 10 lakh from Kishanganj area.
The accused were waiting for someone to deliver the consignment when they were caught. They are being questioned about the source and person to whom they were going to deliver it.
Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Amarendra Singh said two persons named Mohan Baghel of Maheshwar and Bhaiyalal Rathore of Sanawad from near Maharana Pratap Bridge when they were waiting for someone to deliver the cannabis.
During search, crime branch team recovered bag containing cannabis that weighed 22 kilograms. During the questioning, the accused told police that they were trying to supply the cannabis illegally. The accused were booked under Section 8/20 NDPS Act and were handed over to Kishanganj police station staff for further action.
Accused told police that they were involved in supplying cannabis in Indore, Dhar, Ujjain and other places for more than two years. They are labourers but began selling cannabis to earn extra income. They used to supply cannabis to students and youths. Accused could not reveal that name of person who had given them cannabis for supply. Senior Superintendent of Police has announced a cash reward for team who arrested the accused.
