A businessman selling firecrackers was arrested along with his son on Friday for allegedly duping a doctor of Rs 1.62 crore. The accused had shown their land to doctor and took money but did not transfer property in doctor’s name. The police are investigating the case. According to Rau police station in-charge Nalin Budholiya, case has been registered against Prakash Bhawani and his son Jay Bhawani on complaint of Dr Vinod Arora, owner of Medi-Square hospital on Thursday. The case was registered by Azad Nagar police station staff and later it was transferred to Rau police station for further investigation.
Dr Arora in his complaint stated that he was searching for a land to establish new hospital. Two property brokers took him to Rau and showed land, which Dr Arora liked. The land belonged to Bhawani, the businessman who sells firecrackers. Bhawani and his son told Dr Arora that they have taken loan after mortgaging the land with a bank. They have to take NOC by depositing money in bank. After that, Dr Arora paid Rs 1.62 crore in two instalments to Bhawani for NOC in 2016. The land was to be transferred in doctor’s name till March 2017. But the accused did not transfer land in Arora’s name even after taking the whole amount.
