Indore: 2-day natural farming workshop

Indore: A two day long training workshop for farmers on natural farming will be organised at Bidla Farms in Sanawadiya village on February 16 and February 17. Guest speaker of the workshop will be Maharashtra Krashi Bhushan awardee Subhash Sharma. Bidla Farm’s Govind Maheshwari said the programme will be organised under guidance of Dr Janak Palta.

A plantation drive ans setting up of indigenous seed bank for the farmers will also be set up during this workshop. He added that the seed bank will work for removing genetically modified seeds and promoting indigenous varieties. The needy farmers will be given free seeds by the bank.

About 71 saplings will be planted for celebrating Dr Janak Plata’s eco-friendly birthday. Maheshwari added that a programme on snake education will also be provided to the farmers. The participants will be educated about snake bites and how to deal with them. They will also be informed about poisonous and non-poisonous snakes.
