Indore: Nursing staff of hospitals along with staff nurses of MGM Medical College would go on indefinite strike from January 28 as their demands have not been met so far. Decision in this context was taken by the association concerned after two meetings, first of which was held in the morning at MH auditorium and the second held during the day.

Association’s district president Ramesh Jaat said that due to apathy of officials, MGMC nursing staff has been devoid of salary increment for past many years while such increments have been given to nursing staff of Gwalior, Rewa, and Sagar medical colleges. The nurse cadre is infuriated over this.

Two- hour demo

T he association said that they had submitted memorandum regarding this was submitted to Dean, DME and other officials ten days ago but no action is taken. As a mark of protest, the nursing staff would stage 2- hour demonstration on January 24 and 25 from 8 am to 10 am. If demands are not met after this demonstration, then the staff would go on indefinite strike. Along with demand for increment, another demand for DPC was also made as for a long time senior nurses have not received promotion.
