Guna: Collector Frank Noble has slapped a fine of Rs 91.8 lakh on GSD Builders Shajapur for illegal excavation of murram from 25 hectares of government land.

A Poclain machine and three dumpers being used in illegal mining and transportation of murram have been seized. Mining officer has been directed to ensure that fine is deposited and seize the said vehicles.

On order issued by the collector, mineral officer with the Tehsildar against illegal quarrying. Tehsildar Pargana Kumbhraj revenue and police team took action and found a Poclain machine and seized three dumpers illegally mining murram, on the 25 hectares government land in Badagaon Tehsil Kumbhraj Patwari Halka No. 33.

Project manager of the said firm Sunil Parachi failed to produce any relevant documents during the proceedings. A case has been booked by the mining officer on report of SDM Chanchoda, Tehsildar Tehsil Kumbhraj.

Collector hear the complaint which alleged that no document was produced to prove that there is no illegal mining and transportation being done. Illegal excavation and transportation without permission by the contractor has been established by the report of the local administration. So the collector slapped a penalty of Rs 91.80 lakh on project manager Sunil Parachi of GSD Builders. Citing a case of the Gwalior High Court Bench, the collector has ordered to confiscate one Poclain machine and three dumpers found involved in illegal quarrying and transportation.
