Indore : The Indian Institute of Technology, Indore has invited research projects from industries with an offer to arrange for financial support of up to 75% of the total project cost.

The elite institute is also forging partnerships with the industry for greater role of the industry in cutting edge research at the institute.

While it is already allowing the industry to use its state-of-art facilities, the IIT Indore has now offered to provide financial support of up to 75% if the industry comes up with research projects to it.

“In a major effort to reach out and engage in cutting edge research with the industry, IIT Indore is offering its expertise and facilities to industry for leading and ambitious design, manufacturing, research and development, and test/characterization based projects in all core and applied areas of engineering, science and technology,” a release issued by IIT Indore said.

“Industry personnel are encouraged to visit IIT Indore and interact with the faculty members to know more about the facilities and expertise available with us,” said Dr Abhinav Kranti, Dean, Research and Development of IIT Indore.

For better ties with industry, the IIT Indore has already announced to hold Industry-Academia Conclave from February 18 to 20. The 3-day conclave would to be attended by representatives of topnotch companies, the institute’s faculty members and students.

The theme of this year’s conclave is: “Emerging Technologies and Innovations”.

The IAC-2016 aims at fostering improving relations between IIT Indore and the industries. It is a sui generis platform that intends to encourage an interaction between the Academia and Industry, which might further lead to work on developing efficient solutions to complex problems which plague both.
