Indore : The Indore Development Authority (IDA) on Tuesday presented its budget for the financial year 2015-2016. The total expenses for the fiscal would be Rs368.43 crore while total income is said to be around Rs 373.78 crore.

Apart from major focus on infrastructure, construction of 2,800 LIG housing units is the top priority of IDA. The civic authority has also focused on several public-oriented facilities this time around.

Construction of 2800 LIG residential units is said to be the high point of this year’s budget. The officials said that in 2015-2016, the IDA would develop 2,800 housing units— 594 EWS and 1700 LIG.

The civic authorities said that it would not go by the guideline rates for these residential units. Instead, value of the land when it was purchased, the present value of premise on the location and profit from selling the premises would be the base value of unit.

IDA said that this move was taken to avoid the guideline issues. The reason behind this is said to make housing affordable for the lower strata of the society. In addition, the civic authority claimed that the scheme would give housing rebate for the end user.

Taking another important decision, the IDA decided to carryout refurbishment work at Meghdoot Garden. This would be carried out under the PPP model (Public Private Participation) and Rs 49cr would be spent for the project.

Passport Processing Centre

Giving a relief to denizens, the IDA has decided to give space to the passport processing centre at Anandvan premise being developed under the Scheme Number 140. The facility would be developed in the room number 1 and 7 of the building. Rent or lease are said to be the set available options from the IDA. An offer would be presented in the same sequence.

Highlights

The budget includes proposed construction of bus stand in Mundla Nayata area.

A Shahid memorial would also be constructed in the Eastern Ring road area.

Several environmental and elevation related works would be carried out at prominent squares including MYH, Regal and Rajwada.

A sum of Rs 33.41cr is earmarked for the development and beautification work.

Also, the connecting route from Dhar Road to Kalani Nagar that leads to airport would also be developed in this fiscal. At Present, this route is narrow and the construction would help smooth flow of traffic flow in the area.
