Indore : Even after getting a written complaint from the girl victims of BPT-second year about alleged teasing by a peon in the department on September 8, the MGM Medical College administration is avoiding action against the accused.
They did not even initiate any probe into the highly sensitive matter of teasing the girls in the department. Annoyed by the dilly-dallying behaviour of the college administration, the victims again approached Dean Dr Pushpa Verma with a request to initiate action against the accused.
The girls also urged the Dean to constitute a probe committee.
However, the Dean informed the victims about actions taken by the department against the accused peon. “The Dean had showed a letter from the HoD of Physiotherapy Department in which he mentioned that he had shifted the peon from the department and also deployed a female employee there. HoD Dr Bhargava has also mentioned about the request of installing CCTV cameras there,” college sources said.
They further said that the victims had taken objection to the letter and informed the Dean that the accused is still working in the department.
After the revelation from the victims, Dr Verma once again assured them to constitute a probe committee to investigate the issue.
It is to be noted that the Dean had assured the girls of constituting a probe committee but didn’t do so after getting a letter from the physiotherapy department.
The Dean had even inspired the victims to be like Mardani and to teach the teasers on the spot but at the time of taking action, she didn’t show the spirit.
On the condition of anonymity, one of the victims said that they are also getting threats from some senior faculties for taking our complaints back. She said that her parents will lodge a police complaint against the peon and the vice principal of physiotherapy department, if college administration did not take any action.
